The Winterling porcelain factory was founded in 1903 by the Winterling brothers in Schwarzenbach an der Saale, Bavaria. The company quickly gained recognition for its exquisite porcelain tableware. In 1917, Winterling acquired the factory established by Oskar Schaller, and in 1992 several family-owned enterprises were merged into Winterling Porzellan AG. After the bankruptcy of Triptis-Porzellan GmbH, a new company was established on its basis. This cup and saucer set showcases the characteristic features of the Art Deco period: stylised motifs, clean geometric patterns, and gold accents. These elements highlight the transition to modernism and the departure from earlier, more ornate styles.
